communication! help each other - be there Lessons learned after the emergency situation in Georgia since August 2008: efficiency in aid work is reached on two levels - the big players (coordinated committee including the gov't and the int'l aid organisations) do the big work, the civil society fills the gaps. Leaving gaps is systemic while playing big. We understand that filling these gaps is not the task of the big players, but happens on a separately coordinated level. It is precisely what all the neighbours did during the emergency situation: helping on concrete needs how they could. It is the duty of the society, of what is today called the civil society. That is precisely our understanding of what we did and are still doing - copying the neighbours' work. Neighbours, we need you! Civil society, we need you!

Running water for the kindergarden in Odishi
The kindergarden looks perfect from inside again, still two things remain: it needs some colour on the facade before the kids start playing outside again and - the most important: they need water supply from the nearby well. Up to date they have to collect water in buckets and collect the waste water from the sinks the same way. We have a detailed budget for pipes/pump/reservoir tank/hot water boiler and all needed plumbing - 4.200 USD will do it. Anybody who would be interested in supporting this - please let us know!! Kindergarden renovated!
The kindergarden works again since April 7 - in child friendly conditions. Big thanks to the Aktion Kleiner Prinz for sponsoring this project and to the People of Good Will for their great work!

New people in kindergarden in Gori
"Kartlosi" also brought us to a kindergarden in Gori, where people from a shelter in Tbilisi just moved in. They were in lack of hygenic products, which we found on the local market in Gori and of 45 mattresses. The production of the mattresses in Tbilisi took two days, delivery happened then immediately.

German teaching material
Again with the help of our friends from "Kartlosi" we visited a school with 180 kids in Pkhvenisi, where the local teacher wanted to teach German, but had only English teaching material. The kids are able to learn German again now.

Outdoor toys for the kids in CFS
With coordination of the NGO "Kartlosi - bridge of friendship" we were asked for outdoor toys for the kids in a "Child Friendly Space " in Shindisi (acually a school where the teachers stay longer). Footballs, basketballs, skipping ropes and badminton sets are there now.

by: admin Renovation of a kinder garden in the tiny village of Odishi, Samegrelo district. The original kinder garden is inhabited by IDPs/refugees from the 1991-war; the building where the kids are now is in a horrible condition. With the help of German child fund "Aktion Kleiner Prinz" and the local initiative "People of Good Will" we are renovating this place. We are still in need of some pipes and a pump to establish running water in this place from the nearby well (70m away) - if you hear something, please let us know.
